Where is the Scottish Wedding?

The service is at St Mary's Episcopal Cathedral, Palmerstone Place, Edinburgh, EH12 5AW. Please note there are numerous churches called St Mary's in Edinburgh. Please try to show up to the correct one to save crashing someone else's wedding... The reception is at Hopetoun House, South Queensferry, EH30 9RW. Please note, if you decide to travel between the wedding service and the reception yourself, there are multiple entrances to Hopetoun House and its surrounding estate. The correct way in is via the small town of South Queensferry.

What should I wear to the Scottish Wedding?

Lounge suit, kilt, summer fabrics, number 1 dress uniform (with sword and medals) are all welcome. There is an anteroom in the cathedral and Hopetoun House's ballroom for swords, hats, and leathers. Please wear suitable footwear for cobblestone, gravel, grass, and a night of reeling!

Will we be outdoors?

There's no such thing as bad weather in Scotland, only bad clothing. Despite this, we have opted for the safety of all parts of the day to be under a roof! Hopetoun House has some lovely grounds and gardens with a mixture of metalled and grassy paths on which you are welcome to roam.

Can I use my mobile phone during the wedding service?

Please refrain from using your mobile phone or own camera during the wedding service. There will be a photographer on the day. Feel free to take your own photographs outside of the service!

To which part of the wedding am I invited?

All of it and both of them!

Can I bring a plus one?

Unfortunately not, we've included the names of everyone invited on your invitation. If you would like to ask for a plus one to be considered, please contact Prash or Rosie.

Are children welcome?

Absolutely, but only if you want to bring them! There will be a children's meal at the Wedding Reception, and an outdoor area at the reception in which children could play. There is also a small play corner in the cathedral.

Will my dietary requirements be catered?

Absolutely. For cultural reasons, the wedding breakfast is wholly vegetarian. However, we intend to introduce you to the unending vegetarian cuisine of South India! If you have a specific dietary requirement, please let us know in your RSVP and we will pass this on to the caterers.

Will there be a bar?

Yes, there will be a bar accepting card and contactless payment at Hopetoun House.

Is there a gift list?

No. The gift of your time and company is more than enough. If you wish to make a donation towards our honeymoon, we'd be happy to accept.

Where is the Indian Wedding?

To be confirmed but in or near Chennai, Tamil Nadu, India.

Where will we stay on the Andaman Islands?

Our favourite place is Barefoot Havelock on Havelock Island (recently renamed Swaraj Dweep). It's based on what has been called Asia's best beach. If we know you are coming with enough notice, we can add to our hotel booking!
